About Career Mentors

Mentoring Reflection

Alongside regular one-to-one counselling, and with students' future paths in mind, I planned a series of varied, in-depth talks spanning film and media public relations, publishing, the arts industries and labour rights.

There has never been a standard template for a career. For students in the humanities especially, what really matters is stepping out of their comfort zone and gradually building the ability to understand others and connect with the world. Through the talks on labour rights, I also wanted to show everyone what today's workplace really looks like. As non-standard employment becomes more common, knowing how to protect your legal rights lets you walk more steadily — and use your strengths without fear on whichever path you choose.
